A multi instrumentalist, promoter and music educator, Brent began performing music from an early age. After a formal education in the Jazz Studies programme at Capilano University in the late 1970s, he began performing with Uncle Wiggly's Hot Shoes Blues Band. One of Victoria's first indy bands, Uncle Wiggly's, went on to form their own label (Mister Deluxe Music) and to produce albums which subsequently led to being signed to RCA. Throughout Brent's performing career he has had the opportunity to share the stage with some wonderful artists including: Muddy Waters, Joe Cocker, Paul Butterfield, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and George Thorogood. As a promoter, as well as front man for the band the Headhunters, Brent organized the successful and long running Cowichan Blues Cabaret. He was also the Artistic Director for the Cowichan Folk Guild and the Islands Folk Festival from 1994-2007, organizing concerts and festivals for hundreds of Canadian and international acts. As a music educator he has taught thousands of students over the years, developing his own method of simplifying and demystifying the theoretical aspects of music.
Brent will be teaching private lessons and performing in our nightly concerts. Please note that private lessons are not included in the workshop price. For more information, please contact us at .
