His influences, Howlin' Wolf and Son House, drew him to the emotional power and raw depth of the blues. Stevie Ray Vaughan befriended the budding talent, and encouraged him to pursue his passion and commit to become a serious blues artist. David’s band The Persuaders quickly made their name well known during a Western tour opening for the legendary Albert Collins. His dynamic style and mesmerizing skill as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and entertainer keeps him centre stage wherever he plays. David has also composed music for television and major motion pictures and his songs have been performed and recorded by various musicians worldwide. David has been honored with the CBC Saturday Night Blues, Great Canadian Blues Award for a lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada. David received the Maples Blues Award in both 2002 and 2004 for Guitarist of the Year and he has also been nominated for the 2009 Maple Blues Electric Act of the Year award. Sharp in action, dress and wit, David leaves his audience entertained with dazzling riffs, edgy vocals, original tunes and off-the-cuff remarks.
