There is a lot more to say about multi-award wining guitarist Jack de Keyzer, even though a lot has already been said. There are those lines from Bob Dylan that if Jack was from Chicago, New York or LA, he'd be famous, or Jeff Healey’s flat-out statement that Jack is the finest blues guitarist in Canada. But the stories that resonate with as much purpose as these accolades are those written about the details of Jack’s body of work: like Eric Thom from Blues Review saying “some players work hard at becoming better musicians, a precious few like Jack de Keyzer are utterly consumed by it.”
Wherever Jack de Keyzer goes you can expect a genuine blues-rock renaissance of electric kick and jazz polish. Ever since 1991’s prophetic Hard Working Man cd, Jack de Keyzer has been on the road performing hundreds of shows per year and building this bridge between true blues guitar and finger-popping rock. And, each year when we think about needing an experienced Blues instructor and inspirational performer, we think about Jack. What our workshop students have been saying about Jack de Keyzer is that he is relentless in his pursuit of getting it right. He makes no secret of the fact that he believes in practise and when you hear him play or see him perform, you understand that his mastery of the guitar and stage is earned. He gives our Workshop what we call the Blues Advantage: the road-tested blues rocker with the seasoned instructional savvy. Jack’s back in 2020!
