Thursday Minor: How to Jam with a Rhythm Section
In this class we will team up with the bass players and drummers and learn how to play cohesively as a rhythm section: how to ‘get in the groove’ with each other, when to play fills, how to avoid stepping on each other, and how to back up a soloist.
Please note: all piano students should bring a pair of headphones. A cheap pair is fine, as long as you can plug it into your keyboard. We will try to allow some time at the end of each class for students to practice what they've been learning, and students will want to play along with some of the recordings we listen to.
