Guy Belanger - Harmonica

At first, in 1974, Guy Bélanger definitely seemed to be heading towards a career centered on traditional blues. Armed with his harmonicas in his belt, he met Bob Walsh, also from Quebec City, who introduced him to the basics of the blues by sharing the various stages of the Old Capital. Later, he joined the ranks of the Delta Blues Band with which he played for more than 4 years and had the opportunity to rub shoulders with the likes of Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, Big Mama Thornton, James Cotton and Dutch Mason. Since then, his experience has expanded to include a succession of collaborations with more than 60 Quebec artists and the production of a dozen albums that have garnered many national and international awards. For more about this talented and successful blues Harp Man see www.guybelangermusic.com. This will be Guy’s first appearance at the Hornby Island Blues Workshop and we are so looking forward to what he can bring to our table. If you are a blues harmonica student you are in for an amazing experience.
